Diane V. Glasscock loving Mother, Nanny, Sister and Aunt passed away March 7, 2019 surrounded by her family at Saint Francis Hospital from Ovarian Cancer.
She was born February 4, 1947 in St. Petersburg, Fl to Geneva Owens. As a teenager the family relocated to Hartford, CT and was a proud graduate of Hartford High School. Diane retired from the City of Hartford Board of Education in which she worked as a paraprofessional for both Project Concern (Glastonbury and West Hartford School Districts) and various Hartford Schools including her final assignment at West Middle Elementary School.
With her nurturing spirit, Diane became everyone’s Auntie Di, other Mother, or God Mother. She was the seamstress for family and friends and enjoyed spending time making Prom Dresses, African Attire, and making needed alterations on clothing. With her love for Arts & Crafts Diane also enjoyed spending time with young children working on “special projects” to keep them busy.
Diane is also know for her infamous homemade soup and "special" tea for anyone who was not feeling well.
As an active member of Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church for over 50 years Diane has served in many capacities. Up until illness, Diane served as President of the Pastors Aid Board, member of the JB Shields Gospel Chorus, Priscilla Green Lay Organization, Viola Fluid Women’s Missionary Society (WMS), Commission on Christian Education, Hospitality Committee, Bethel Ministry to Women (BMW) and Vacation Bible School Teacher.
Diane was Past Matron of Ruth Chapter #25 OES, PHA. She was also a member of Makalia Court No. 137, Order of the Golden Circle, Tamar Court #1, Heroines of Jericho P.A., Leslie I. Duncan Assembly No. 174 and the Red Hat Society.
Diane is survived by her family:

Grandchildren: Marquita, Victoria & Willie Jr.
Sister: Maria (Thomas)
Nieces: Uganda, Sonsharay, Lasia, Milan, Cynya, Cali, Chloe, Britton
Nephews; Jamal (Lakisha), Levar (Kelli), Carl Jr., Taji, Jaron, Jayden, Jordan, Ka'Mari, & Adrian
